October 16th, 2012 is world food day and you might be asking, what does this even mean?
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) celebrates World Food Day each year on 16th of October. The theme of the World Food Day 2012 is “Agricultural Cooperatives – Key to feeding the World” in recognition of the role cooperatives play in improving food security and contributing to the eradication of hunger.
World food day is such a great initiative as it focuses on how the whole food system, from farmers to consumers can contribute in improving food security and contributing to the eradication of hunger.
