German Lucky Pig Pastries (Gefüllte Glücksschweinchen)

The holiday season is now in full swing and it feels as though there is some magic in the air! Hopefully if you are reading this you are gearing up for a well deserved break.

I am taking this opportunity to highlight an amazing blog post that I stumbled upon last week on Taste Spotting. The blogger included a recipe for these cute Lucky Pig Pastries, and one thing I love is traditions from around the world. You can find the recipe, article and beautiful image right here.

German food culture has long been linked with pork, but I had never heard of this delightful Christmas tradition. Try it out at home today. Try stuffing your Gefüllte Glücksschweinchen with Ontario bacon or ham along with the pesto sauce. Once again, you can find the recipe and original blog post here.
